Social Media has had a great impact on all our lives and truly revolutionized the way we keep in touch with each other. At CMG Australia we have decided on making Social our best friend and you would have noticed right from the start that we’ve taken to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn like a fish takes to water. The CMG Australia website is also tightly integrated with all the social media platforms ensuring that we are only a “tweet” (in twitter lingo) and a “like” (in facebook lingo) away from our members.
Today, we’ve taken another stride towards adopting Social Media for our initiatives at CMG Australia. We made it easier for all CMGites in Australia to keep in touch using Social Media by launching our own Meetup, “CMG Australia Meetup Group“. The inspiration behind this initiative is “Peter Harding”, an old timer at CMG Australia and the CEO at PerformIQ. I caught up with Peter this morning over a coffee at Port Melbourne and spoke about numerous things including future initiatives at CMG Australia. The focus of our discussion however was the initiatives that CMG Australia should be focusing on to ensure that we are building an organization that stays relevant, adapts to changing industry trends and focuses on issues that matter to its professional members.
The CMG Australia Meetup group will:
- Make it easy for us to communicate and keep in touch with each other
- Organize events and communicate venue/timing details to all our members
- Give every member an opportunity to provide feedback after an event
- Make it easy for members to chip in contributions for a given event
- Make it easy for members to pay their yearly subscription fees
- Give members an opportunity to share ideas for topics at upcoming events
